Getting my hair cut.. need photos please!?

i have long brown boring hair with a sort of side parting and no fringe. I really want to get my hair cut soon, only a couple of inches off the length so its still long with choppy layers and a side fringe (whats a sweeping side fringe?). Does anyone have any photos of a similar hairstyle??? Cos im worried it wont turn out right otherwise and im NOT going for the emo style! lol thanks x
