how do the barbers cut hair into short and spikey....
im talking about like the swap meet/ghetto barbers that dont put style into the hair because i just want a plain short (like 3 inch) spikey hair cut
do they just shave all your hair around with the razor set to 3 and thats it or what?

you don't want them to use clipper.
use scissors, not make it blunt , chop them (make them zig zag) and txurelize with thinning scissors.
Or just go to the salon...
