Right out of the hair salon hair?

i got a hair cut and style yesterday... and it looks perfectly straight and shiny and pretty... then i took a shower..... and i have curly hair so after i straightened it and put protection spray, shine spray, and stuff that keeps ur hair straight(but not hairspray) and it doesn't look anything like the hair salon. i have a really weird straightener... its called "straight to the maxx" is that the reason? cuz its not a good straightener??

what can i do to get it look like it b4

You'll want to use a professional moisturizing shampoo and conditioner every time you wash your hair.

You'll want to do a professional hot oil treatment every month to strengthen your hair.

Professional products are always best as the don't buildup on the hair as fast and hey are formulated to build strength and elasticity within the hairshaft.

There are 2 important things to remember when you're conditioning....

1. Squeeze the excess water out of your hair before you apply the conditioner. Your hair is like a sponge. If you put a soaking wet sponge on water....it won't do anything because it's full of water. If your hair is full of water....the conditioner will go down the drain. If you put a damp sponge on water....it soaks the water up. The same thing happens with damp hair...the conditioner will go INTO the hairshaft.

2. Rinse the conditioner with lukewarm water. Luke warm to your hands...it will feel slightly cool on your head. If you use very hot water...you will open the cuticle layer and flush out all the conditiner you just put in...back down the drain. Luke warm water will rinse the excess off the outside of the hairshaft....but the inside will retain the what you put in.

these 2 things alone will make your hair behave better and no doubt, after styling, you'll have it feeling like it did when you left the salon.

Apply a thermal proctectant to the hair prior to blowdrying.

Finally finish with a moisturizing leave-in conditoner. This can be applied to wet or dry hair.

Loma makes excellent products.

Hydrating shampoo and conditioner

Paul Brown Booster ( thermal protectant)

Paul Brown Kukui nut hot oil ( hot oil treatment)

Loma Peratin Serum ( finishing conditioner)

All of these products are concentrated and take about the size of a pea to a dime size to use in your hair.

There is nothing worng with Chi irons. I have been using them on my clients for over 6 years. You just need to remember the thermal protectant...and apply even pressure while running the iron down the hairshaft. With any straightening iron...you don't want to hold it in one place too long for fear of buring the hair.

Since you pay good money for a cut and style, call and ask to speak with the lady who cut your hair/stop by and ask for some styling advice. That way you get exactly what you want without damaging your hair or wasting time!

I suggest going back to the stylist that did your hair and pay for a style again. This time ask questions and have her show you how, what and when to use the right products. It is not just our job to cut your hair, we need to teach you how to achieve the salon results at home.

if you want salon quality hair, then purchase a salon quality straightener. Chi is very good. Remember when it come to your hair, price should not be considered!

ask the salon for some styaling advice and ask what they used as well and see if they can recomend something similar but better for your budget.

It is not the easiest thing to do on your own. Especially if you have wavy or curly hair. If you are within that category I am sorry unless you have a knack for styling most likely it will never come out as if you walked out of a salon. It is never the same as someone else blowdrying your hair especially in the back. Now here is a good tip in Mainitain your freshly blown out hair.

#1 buy a good flat iron for touch ups... when you are touching up easy in the heat you might was to use a lower hear when touch up so you won't fry your hair.

#2 When you sleep wrap your hair in something use a hanky or a silky shash. this really helps the hair stay in place. If you do not know how to wrap it ask your stylist to show you or just tye the rage arouns your head like Ann Jamima :O) So that in the morning all you have to really touch up are the ends.

#3 when you shower wear a plastic cap or even better wrap your hair in a towel (turbon) that really keeps the moisture out!

** it is important to use a little heat protecting spray even when you touch up... just use a lighter spray so it won't get too oily**

I really hope this helps!! Ciao! ;O)

P.S. I don't Like Chi Flat Irons and Dryers I find you only pay for the name... Hot tools and Rusk are some of my Favs...

When you are looking for a Flat Iron make sure it goes up to 450 Degrees ;O) Hair Dryer 1900-2000 are the best and work fast!
